  • ABOUT THIS PAINTING

    This is a 18x24 inch oil painting on pre stretched canvas. Canvas has wire attached with D-Ring hangers for easy hanging. Painting is unframed. Painting is handmade and comes bubble wrapped in a box protected by cardboard corners. 

    Inspiration for painting:

    For this painting, I was inspired by the music artist Sia, who often hides her image through large wigs, and incorporates children portraying emotion/lyrics through drama and performing arts. I related to this, as I am often perceived as a shy person to most, but when alone or around the familiar is when I feel most liberated and free of judgement by society's standards. Liberation is also what drives my overall art subject as a whole, whether through abstract, portraits, or landscapes.

    To communicate this alter ego, I wanted to portray an image of a child, the most free spirited being I could think of, who creates their own reality. I am also a big anime fan, so I chose to incorporate a little of the playful gestures and nature often used in anime and manga to tie it together.
